Checkpoint was
formed in 1978 by Allan Gibson. It was a retail operation designed
to cater for the motoring enthusiast, run by enthusiasts. Having
competed in many forms of motorsport, hill climbs, sprints, autocross,
autotests and rallies, Allan was able to put his experience to
good use. Having started trading from a small shop in
Rosemount, Aberdeen, Checkpoint quickly outgrew
its original location, and after several moves, finally settled
at its present site on George Street, Aberdeen. A 10,000sq ft
high street site is ideal for not only having a central location,
but also giving a large retail showroom together with a modern
fully fitted workshop, allowing Checkpoint to
supply and install.
There are two distinct services offered in the workshop. Firstly electrical.
We will install everything we sell - Hi-fi, alarms, satellite navigation, tracking
systems, reversing sensors, multimedia, dvd, screens, ps2 etc. Secondly, mechanical.
Again we will install everything we sell - spring & suspension kits, torsion
bars, brakes. We can also build custom-made stainless steel exhaust systems
for any car, with lifetime warranty. Wheels & tyres are fitted using equipment
designed to fit alloy wheels without damaging rims. Balancing can be done using
the latest Haweka balancing system giving the most accurate results.
